Video Player Hasn't Installed Correctly
Having Video Problems?
Troubleshooting your Video Stream:- Adobe Flash Player 9 or above must be installed. Click on the icon below to make sure that you have the most current version of Adobe Flash Player installed.
- Make sure that you have downloaded the Digital Stream™ Player software below.
- Close all applications except for your Web Browser. Our player is a high performance player and may require high CPU usage.
- Make sure you aren't downloading any files or viewing other videos as this can cause the video to be choppy.
- You must be using a high speed Internet connection such as Cable or DSL. Dial-up Internet and some Broadband Wireless cards are too slow for our Live Events.
In order to view this demo you need to install the Digital Steam™ High Performance Player Plugin:
Windows
Digital Stream Plugin works with Windows Vista Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000
Easy setup procedure:
- Download and run the .exe file.
- Accept the Digital Stream™ EULA to complete the installation procedure. The plug-in should launch upon completion. If not, you can launch it from your start menu.
- Once the installation is complete the Octoshape icon will appear.
Mac OS X
Digital Stream Plugin is a Universal binary that runs on both Power PC and Intel based Macs with OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or later.
Easy setup procedure:
- Download the .dmg file. It should mount and launch the installer automatically. If not, mount the image and launch the contained installer.
- Accept the Digital Stream™ EULA to complete the installation procedure. The plug-in should launch upon completion. If not, you can launch it from your home directory.
- Once the installation is complete the Octoshape icon will appear.
Linux
Digital Stream Plugin requires libcrypto.so.0.9.8 which is part of openssl-0.9.8, and an http-enabled media player (mplayer or similar)
Easy setup procedure:
- Download the .bin file and make it executable with the command chmod +x octosetup-linux_i386.bin Execute ./octosetup-linux_i386.bin and follow the installation instructions.
- Navigate to the Showcase page, pick More streams, and copy the link from picture of the stream you want to watch. Pass the link as the -url:octoshape:xxx.yyy argument to OctoshapeClient like this:
"./OctoshapeClient -url:octoshape:DR.p3" - A media player will launch playing the link you used with the -url argument. Default player is mplayer, if you wish to have a different player as default then please consult the Linux FAQ
